The testing machine mainly consists of three parts: the main body, the hydraulic control box, and the force measuring instrument.

1. Main Body Section

The main body of the testing machine is connected by four columns linking the cylinder body and the upper beam.

On the upper beam of the testing machine, an adjustment screw, a large handwheel, and a nut screw are installed to adjust the no-load height of the testing machine. The lower end of the screw is equipped with a ball seat and an upper pressure plate. The lower pressure plate is placed on the piston of the oil cylinder. When the specimen contacts the upper pressure plate, the ball seat of the upper pressure plate can self-adjust for balance, keeping the specimen level with the upper and lower pressure plates. The lower pressure plate is engraved with positioning lines for the specimen. During testing, the specimen must be aligned with these lines. Below the lower pressure plate, there is a dust cover to prevent or reduce dust from entering the oil cylinder during piston movement, which could damage the cylinder or oil seal. A sealing device is installed between the piston and the oil cylinder to prevent oil leakage. However, if a slight amount of oil leaks from the piston during use, there is an annular oil groove at the top of the cylinder body with an oil discharge channel to drain the oil back into the main tank.

2. Hydraulic Section

     The hydraulic box of this testing machine mainly consists of an oil tank, oil pump, oil filter, motor, speed valve, and return oil valve. The oil pump is a direct-rotation axial five-piston pump. During loading, the loading speed valve should be manually controlled to regulate the piston’s rising speed (this valve is integrated with the safety valve). During unloading, the return oil valve can be turned to allow the oil cylinder to descend slowly. The safety valve has been pre-set to the appropriate position before leaving the factory. Under normal use, users should not adjust the safety valve.
